Utah is growing on us!

Can you believe this post? Not only do I enjoy Utah but Curt is beginning to as well! There are many different reasons of course, but a few have been just recently...
#1 Curt & I have just been declared as Utah Residents through USU! Hallelujah...why you might ask...AFFORDABLE SCHOOL! Curt is getting anxious to start back up again but very excited as well. I'm excited as usual for school. By the end of summer I sure am ready to get my brain going again. I also am looking forward to having our relationship grow as we now will both be balancing school, work, church, and squeezing time in for each other. Oh and we never could have done it without the director of admissions here, she is INCREDIBLE, and thanks mom for sharing the story with her!
#2 Pioneer Day! Not only do we get fireworks twice, but we get that real sense of appreciation for the pioneers. They definitely deserve a day of celebration! And obviously we are loving that we get an extra day off. Thanks to our friends Cody & Jen we got to enjoy the long weekend with them and their families. We got to see great fireworks, have a yummy BBQ, shop, shop, and some more shopping~and PARK CITY~ I have never been and I really love it. We went and rode the Alpine Slide and shopped and got to see the Olympic Parks! It was way fun, we definitely will be going back sometime.
#3 Walking into church and seeing Pres. Eyring on the stand! I about popped, I was so excited. Pres. Eyring has been one the the General Authorities I have really loved. Mostly because of his sweet message about the temple, but many other things make him great. (Not like the others aren't) But, I love seeing him at church. He is in Jen's parents ward and just happened to be there that Sunday. His smile up close is unforgettable, and he is SO tall in person. It was a humbling experience watching him sit in Sunday school just stare at the picture of Christ. Both Curt and I said to each other, "I wonder what's going on in that apostle head of his, and I'd like a piece of it too!" It was great and makes me know that they are ordinary, every day people who are impeccable examples to all of us.
#4 Being Visited by Family & Friends! So a couple of weeks ago I got a call from my mom asking us if it would be okay if her, my dad, and Jordan join us for conference weekend! It is way more than okay! I think both my mom and i are counting down the days until then. We are SO excited to have family come here and share a little bit of Logan with them! Just today I was surprised by a wonderful visit from the Groscost family. Can I just say Dana is one of the most amazing people in the world. I love her to pieces and her family! I'm so glad they took time to come see me. We sure have gained an appreciation of family and friends living so far away. We really have learned that the time we have with each other might not be long, but gives us rich memories. We are so lucky to have wonderful friends here to hold us over in between visits!

#5 Temples Everywhere...and of course the Logan Temple! I think it's increible how quickly temples have began to shoot up. Since the beginning of this year and in a few weeks we will have gone to 2 temple dedications. It's wonderful! Having the Logan Temple closed for this past month really puts into perspective how important it is in our lives. That's the main reason we love Utah, we get to live our dream. I'm sure that dream will continue onto other places, but we are very thankful to all of those who have made this possible. We love you and appreciate you more than you know!!!(:

We are also an Aunt an Uncle to a new little baby girl Lexee! Congratulations Cody & Steph, we can't wait to meet her! Anna and Lexee are too adorable, thanks for all the pictures and videos. We adore them!

july fun!!!

I LOVE the summer! Curt and I are experiencing our first summer together away from Mesa and on top of it being a little cooler, we have also found some fun things to do! Besides camping, riding our NEW bikes, and spending lots of time ouutside we really enjoyed Cache Valley's tradition called 'The Cruise-In' (I think I wrote about this in my previous post). It's a 3 day event, but unfortunately we were only able to see the very end of the weekend, I think we caught the best part though(: The last day for a couple hours the city closes Main Street down and lets all the cars who entered the show cruise the road! It was too fun! Here are a few pictures we caught...sorry they aren't the greatest!

These 2 here are my favorite color!

Anyone having flash backs of 'Back to the Future?!!'

A fun red one! I wish I could remember all the names... '~'

And this yellow reminded me of a truck that Curt's dad has!

Besides celebrating our anniversary, poor Curt has to worry about my birthday too! But he pulled through and did an amazing job!!!(: He even made this cake himself~!

He also surprised me BIG TIME on a gift!

My mom was too fun and sent 2 cans of SILLY STRING! Cheap fun, let me tell you!(: We laughed so hard, I LOVED IT!!!

My family spoiled me from both sides! I am so grateful for all they did and also for the phone calls, texts, and cards from family and friends! It sure made it a great day, even though we couldn't be home! I owe a huge THANK YOU to our friends here too! thank you, thank you...to everyone! Happy SUMMER!

What we've been up to!(:

It's been quite awhile since the beach so I thought it was about time to update. June was such a busy month and a ton happened. First of all I got to go home to Mesa, AZ for my friend Elizabeth's wedding and it just worked out perfect that my brother Jordan was also ordained to be an Elder that weekend too! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures with Elizabeth but it was all beautiful.! But I did get one of the temple and one with Jordan...

It was fun to see family and friends again, but next time Curt is coming with me! We did get a fun picture though of me and my brothers...i love those boys!

At the end of June Curt and I got to watch our bishop's kids while they celebrated their anniversary in Hawaii! It sure was quite the change to be just the two of us to adding a 13 year old girl and an 11 year old boy. Can I say they are TONS easier than toddlers though! We had a great time bowling, lighting off fireworks (I love Utah just for that reason), going out to eat, playing the wii, camping in the backyard, and going to the firework show! I think Curt most of all loved having a garage to park our car in and a DOG!

Crazy enough...Curt and I also celebrated our First Anniversary on July 1! I can't believe how fast that went by. We didn't do anything special besides getting each other gifts. We thought it would be fun to get a sentimental gift and a fun gift! Curt got me the willow tree called "together" (I LOVE IT) and also a fish tank...he knows me too well. And i made him a photo book off of shutterfly and got him a dutch oven for some yummy food when we camp! We had a lot of fun with just a few simple things. We wanted to start the tradition to go do sealings on our anniversary if we are able to, so we went and unfortunately all the work was already done before 7:( But we did get to walk around and just visit with each other so it ended up being nice...maybe we'll have better luck next year. Curt was so cute and let me pick out my own fish...I know it's a bad picture but here is Oliver N' Company! (It's a long story but that's what fits them)
Happy 4Th of July! Cache Valley does their firework show the night before and then the night of the 4Th they close down main street and have the 'Cruise-In' Parade. People drive their old renovated cars up and down main. So that's our plan to celebrate tonight...Curt's going to be in Heaven! Hopefully we'll have some fun pictures to post later!
